I am so excited to get back to school and see all my ELL students again this year! I am also excited to meet my new students- in kindergarten and new to our school.
I will be located in the library for Open House. Please stop by and say hello!
See you soon!
What is ELL?
ELL stands for English Language Learners. This program exists for students who speak, understand, and/or are exposed to a language other than English. We have many languages represented at Pleasant Prairie: Spanish, Albanian, Chinese, Urdu, Gujarati, Polish, and French to name a few.
Our ELL teacher is Paula Stachow. She works with the classroom teachers to make sure the ELL students are getting the support and education they deserve.

How you can help your child read better….
Reading to your child has many benefits and rewards. Let’s look to see how your child’s reading ability grows as a result of you taking the time to read to them daily.
This is Mrs. Stachow’s 7th year as the ELL teacher at Pleasant Prairie. She lives in Kenosha with her husband, Adam, daughter, Belle, and cat, Mia. Mrs. Stachow graduated from UW-Whitewater with a degree in Elementary Education and ESL. She enjoys reading, photography, nature walks, Superhero movies, and reading to and playing with her daughter!
