Book Fairs: Two times a year (November and April) around Parent/Teacher conferences
BoxTops: Promoting/Collecting General Mills box tops for money for the school
Campbells Labels: Collecting/Preparing Campbell’s labels for supplies for the school
Chat-n-Chew: Evening events of food and discussion on educational and parenting topics for parents
Fall Family Fun Night: (Oct) school social with decorations, food, games, trick-or-treating
Family Nights Out: once a month outings for families, i.e. skating parties, dining out,…
Fifth Grade Banquet: (held at end of year) usually put on by NON-5th grade parents for 5th graders and their families
Fire Safety House*: (usually in Sept or Oct) working with fire dept to instruct younger grades on fire safety
Fundraising: (presently in the Fall) advertising, collecting money, distribution of product; choosing future fundraisers
Grandparent's Day*: (one day in the fall) Grandparents (or other adult relatives) are invited to the school. Involves helping them find classrooms and providing light refreshments during schooltime event
Head Checks*: (3 to 4 mornings / year) checking all students for pediculosis (lice)
Hearing and Vision*: (once a year) checks for selected grades and students
Kindergarten Round-up*: (two days in April) helping parents with kindergarten registration
Market Day: every month frozen food fundraiser; distribution one afternoon a month
Membership: (mostly during first quarter) advertising for PTA and collection of dues
New Families: being available to new families for questions
Newsletter: monthly; includes article writing, proofreading, distribution
Open House*: (just before school starts in the fall) providing refreshments, helping parents find rooms, membership tables
Original ArtWorks: fundraiser program; parents can purchase students’ artwork on special items
Pictures/Yearbook: Student pictures (Sept) and retakes (Nov) / Year-round yearbook with big push during second semester
Popcorn Sales: (once a month sale to students) money given to classrooms at end of year
Read Across America: (First Week In March) Celebration of reading in conjunction with Dr. Seuss’ birthday
Reflections Creative Arts Program: Award winning (Wisconsin State “Traditional Program of the Year”!!) program open to all students. [Parental Involvement varies from being creative to keeping computer records]
School Directory: (Sept) collecting school families’ contact information (only with permission); proofreading, distributing
Science Fair: (Mar/May) promoting and preparing for the fair for 3rd-5th graders
Spirit Wear: (Sept/Oct) collecting orders and delivering school shirts
Sports Day*: (one of last days of school) getting drinks for drink station and sticker/button prizes
Spring Family Fun Night: (March) school social with decorations, food, games, basket drawing
Staff/Teacher Appreciation: one day during lunch in April (secretarial support); and meals and gifts for one week in May (for entire staff)
Summer Mailings: (one day about a week before school starts in the fall) stuffing bus/ school info mailings
Sundaes with Students: once a month awards party for selected students from every class
Volunteer Coordinator: coordination of volunteers for committees and room parentsWelcome Back Luncheon: (one day during 1st or 2nd week of school) for all faculty; held during faculty lunches
